al-Zahra'
The Prophet's youngest daughter, wife of Ali and mother of al-Hasan, al-Husayn, Zaynab and Umm Kulthum, through whom the Prophet's descendants continue. He called her 'a part of me' and the leader of the women of Paradise. She died about six months after him.
Her birth year is disputed: about five years before prophethood according to many reports, or after it according to others.
